In a tall serving glass, combine 0.25 cup (60 ml) chilled milk and 1.5 tablespoons vanilla syrup (or dissolved sugar with vanilla extract). Stir well to combine the milk and vanilla flavoring.
Fill the glass generously with 1 serving of ice. Slowly pour 0.75 cup (180 ml) chilled club soda or sparkling water over the ice and milk mixture.
